Every Hide & Steel piece is uniquely designed and meticulously hand crafted using only vintage tools and machines. Each piece has been hand sewn or machine sewn on a classic Singer sewing machine manufactured as early as 1908.

Hides chosen to make each individual piece may have identifying traits ranging from color variation to cattle brands, holes and naturally occurring or barb wire scarring.

During the tanning process, fats and liquors are used to create this unique color and finish.
Each item is intended to patina as it ages. This naturally occurring process helps to release the true beauty and personality of every piece.
